'SMOKE THAT CIGARETTE' - SONGS ABOUT SMOKES ON ROY'S RECORD
ROOM
On Monday, we'll check out RRR's CD
of the Week - Bear Family's 'Smoke That Cigarette-Pleasure
To Burn' - a whole pile of tunes celebrating the joys and
sorrows of cigarettes - those nasty cancer-sticks that, amazingly,
were once the epitome of 'cool' in popular culture.
We'll hear nicotine-stained tunes from folks like Jimmy
Martin, Frank Sinatra, Glen Glenn, Patti Page, Rev J.M. Gates,
Lillian Leach & The Mellows, Peggy Lee, and more.
That's Monday, August 30th, six PM sharp - for a look
at RRR's CD of
the Week - 'Smoke That Cigarette-Pleasure To Burn' - on
Rooooy's Record Room, the show that checks out
the past to butt out for the future.
