Programming Changes
As you’re likely aware, CKUA has taken a financial hit recently due to the loss of a major Alberta government contract (Emergency Public Warning System). This has caused us to make a number of changes around your independent and listener-funded Alberta radio network. Beginning March 1st you will see a re-design of some parts of the weekly CKUA program schedule, including some new shows:
Points North with Peter North
Tuesdays, 6–7 pm
Seasoned music journalist, concert promoter, producer and radio host, Peter North lends his formidable talent and connections with in-depth interviews with musicians and music industry stars from Alberta and around the world – all blended with outstanding musical accompaniment.
One Headlight with Lionel Rault
Fridays, 8-9pm
CKUA’s favourite raconteur and host of Nine to Noon, will now also be showing up Friday nights with a new mix of great music and affable banter as only Lionel Rault can provide it.
Ballads & Blue Notes with David Ward
Sundays, 9:30pm to midnight
A melodic, late night blend of jazz and jazz-influenced music, hosted by our own David Ward.
