Dow Chemical Canada Inc. joins the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) as the official supplier of Insulation Materials and Heat Transfer Fluids. Building on over 30 years of Dow’s support of the Olympic Movement, Dow Canada’s six-year Official Supplier designation will provide sponsorship rights within Canada for the 2010 Winter Games, including sponsorship rights for the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Olympic Team for 2008, 2010, and 2012. Mutually committed to the principles of sustainability, Dow Canada and VANOC will work together to support a “green” Olympic and Paralympic Games by increasing awareness of how to reduce waste. In addition, Dow Building Solutions will supply insulation products that will be extensively used in the construction of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic venues. Dow Canada will be trackside supporting Canada’s Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton athletes’ quest for the international podium as the sole supporter sponsor and provider of chemicals, plastics, agricultural chemicals and chemistry to the three national teams, Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton and the Canadian Luge Association. 	For the second year, Dow is proud to sponsor The Banff Centre's Science Communications Public Lecture as part of the 2008 Banff Summer Arts Festival. Jay Ingram, Chair of the Science Communications program, eminent science journalist, and co-host of Discovery Channel's Daily Planet, presents *Watson and Crick; Lennon and McCartney, a look at two of the great creative partnerships of the 20th century.
