On the first Friday of every month, CKUA is taking
the station to you, broadcasting hour long concerts with some of Alberta's finest
bands from a variety of locations across the province. First Friday concerts
airs from 8-9pm, hot on the heels of the Celtic Show.

Join CKUA Radio at the Canmore
Civic Centre on Friday, July 31* when our First Friday series continues.
This is your chance to kick off the Canmore Folk Festival weekend with a great
party, CKUA style. Andy Donnelly will set the night in motion at 6 PM
with the Celtic Show, followed by an hour-long live concert broadcast featuring
Juno-nominated reggae band, Souljah
Fyah, hosted by Folk Routes announcer Tom Coxworth. The
high-energy female fronted Reggae band out of Edmonton is backed by a solid ensemble
of multi-talented reggae musicians. The music combines African percussion, sweet
harmonies and heavy basslines to produce their soulful sound. You will find
us outside of the building if it's a nice evening, or just inside if the weather
warrants it. Be sure to get there early for a good vantage point! Be part
of the First Friday audience – it’s free, open to all, and there is no
RSVP required. If you are in the Canmore area on Friday, July 31st– we’d love
to see you, so drop by the Canmore Civic Centre or tune in! Be sure to get there
