Merchandise Volunteers Position Description
General Description:
Merchandise volunteers are responsible for selling CKUA merchandise at special
events, benefits, musical, cultural, and arts venues throughout the province.
These events happen periodically throughout the year and the average time commitment
is approximately 3 to 6 hours.
Skills:
Experienced at handling cash
Able to reconcile inventory with cash received from sales
Knowledgeable about issuing receipts.
Knowledgeable about processing credit cards
Knowledgeable about CKUA
Friendly, outgoing and professional manner
Effective written and oral communication skills
Tasks:
Designated volunteer picks up merchandise at mutually agreed upon location
Count the merchandise and compare it with the Inventory Sent column on the Event Merchandise Report.
Record the inventory received in the Inventory Received Column.
Inform the Receptionist at CKUA if the merchandise in the bin does not match with your inventory control sheet as soon as possible.
Organize the merchandise as per the product column on the report for example, blues XL t-shirts long sleeve in one pile.
Receipt all merchandise sold
At the end of each shift reconcile the money with the merchandise you have sold and complete the Shift Summary Report.
Return Event Merchandising Report, Shift Summary Report, monies and merchandise to the receptionist at CKUA within 5 working days.

Appropriate materials will be provided so that the volunteer can do his/her job.
The volunteer upon the return of the merchandise, will endure no cost
